Thank you to the Minooka 201 community for the support of our students and schools!
Welcome to Minooka Community Consolidated School District 201!  Minooka is one of the fastest growing elementary school districts in Illinois.  We are located off Interstate 80 ten miles west of Joliet.  The district has more than doubled our enrollment in the last four years.  Currently, the district serves nearly 4000 students in five buildings: Aux Sable Elementary School (K-5), Minooka Elementary School (K-4), Minooka Intermediate School (6th grade), Minooka Junior High (Pre-K, 7th, & 8th grades), in Minooka, and Walnut Trails Elementary School (K-5) in Shorewood.

Minooka CCSD 201 has long been known for its high quality academic program and excellent student academic scores.  Our mission is to provide each child in our community with a safe, caring learning environment that addresses the educational needs and potential of each student in a manner that encourages life-long learning. Our staff is dedicated to providing opportunities for students to fulfill this mission.  Minooka Schools also benefits from an excellent volunteer program.  Parental involvement and strong community support contribute greatly to the excellent educational opportunities afforded the students in our district.

Rapid residential growth in our community has swelled the enrollments in our schools to beyond the normal capacity of each school.  In an effort to address the current and growing enrollments the Board of Education has established a new committee composed of parents and community members called the “Comprehensive Planning Committee”.  The goal of the committee is to help the Board establish a plan to address the need for additional classroom space.  The plan must be academically enriching to our students and cost effective for our taxpayers.  Minooka CCSD 201 is committed to providing high quality, affordable education for our community.  Community members that are interested in assisting with our Comprehensive Planning Committee should click on the Comprehensive Planning Committee link.
