So our climate is changing what does that mean?

The Earth is getting hotter!  It all starts with the sun.  First the sun’s rays beam down to Earth.  They pass through the atmosphere and have a greenhouse effect which helps warm the planet.  Just like the glass of a greenhouse the atmosphere keeps some of the sun’s heat in, which is a good thing.  Without sunlight or heat there would be no life on Earth!

The atmosphere is like a big blanket that surrounds the planet.  The problem is that it is getting too thick and trapping too much heat on Earth. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Carbon Dioxide is not the only gas that is causing a climate increase.  Methane and Nitrous Oxide among others also add to the thickness of the atmosphere.
