Taking Care of
Books
Marion the Hedgehog from the story What Happened to Marion's Book,
says:

1. Always handle books with clean hands.
2. Never mark or write in library books.
3. Be careful turning pages so they won't wrinkle or tear.
4. Keep your library books away from food and drink.
5. Keep your library books dry.
6. Carry your library books in a plastic bag or your book bag.
7. Return your library books on time so others can read them.
8. Talk about the rules with your son or daughter and discuss why it is
important.
We emphasize that if your son or daughter brings a water bottle to
school, please make sure the cap on the bottle is securely closed,
especially if the water bottle is carried inside his or her book bag.
In past years there has sometimes been water damage to library books
when the water bottle the student is carrying in his or her book bag
leaked. Thanks for your help.
