Recently the students in Mrs. Manno’s 4^th grade class at Aux Sable Elementary School designed and built web pages to showcase their knowledge of global warming and the current climate change our world is experiencing.  Through many hours of research the students were able to create informational posters that were hung around the community displaying some of the most crucial information affecting the status of our environment today.

 They also wrote a letter to the mayor of Minooka which prompted him to sign a Climate Protection Agreement to help conserve energy and use less fossil fuels.  The students were overjoyed when they read in the paper that their efforts had truly made a difference.  The celebration continues as the mayor will be visiting our classroom to recognize the students for their outstanding efforts in protecting the environment.  The students also plan to celebrate Earth Day by planting a tree in the front yard of our school.  The tree was generously donated by A Touch of Green Nursery in Lockport and we are very thankful for the donation.

 We have done our part to help save the world and we hope everyone that comes across our website will be inspired to do the same!
