Welcome to Walnut Trails Elementary School “Where Character Counts!”  We are located at 301 Wynstone Drive in Shorewood, Illinois.  For the 2008-09 school year, Walnut Trails Elementary School services the needs of 800+ students in grades kindergarten through fifth. 

Students receive a well rounded education in a learning environment that promotes excellence in student learning, behavior, and character.  In addition to the core subject offerings of language arts, math, reading, science, and social studies, students receive instruction in art, music, physical education, computer science, and library science.  Additional student services are available in the areas of special education, reading support, social work, and gifted education.

Walnut Trails Elementary School extracurricular activities include beginning band, fifth grade wrestling, and intramural basketball. 

Walnut Trails Elementary School is one of five schools in Minooka Community Consolidated School District #201.  We employ 40+ certified staff members to meet the needs of the students we service.  School office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Feel free to contact us by email or phone to answer any questions you might have regarding our school.
