Welcome to Minooka Junior High School and Little Indians Learning Center. We are located at 333 West McEvilly Road in Minooka, Illinois. During 2008-2009 school year, we will be servicing the educational needs of nearly 800 7th and 8th grade students, as well as almost 200 pre-school aged students.
Our school is presently one of five schools with two new schools slated to be opened in the fall of 2009. Our professional learning community boasts a staff of nearly 100 certified and non-certified staff members to meet the needs of the students we service. School office hours are 7:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
Students receive a well rounded education in a student-centered learning environment that promotes excellence in academics and extracurricular activities. In addition to the core subject offerings of language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies, students may receive instruction in an exploratory rotation of computer science, art, and technology, or Spanish. Students also participate in physical education daily. Additional student services are available in the areas of special education, literacy and numeracy support, social work, and gifted education.
Students are able to tryout for a variety of competitive activities, both academic and athletic, as well as other interest-based “study hall” clubs that are open to all 7th & 8th grade school students. For more information regarding student activities, be sure to visit the “For Students” link on the main page.
Finally, please be sure to contact us by telephone or electronic mail with any questions or feedback you might have regarding our school.
We welcome you in partnering with us to best serve our students, your children.
Sincerely,
DJ Skogsberg, Principal
