Twilight Series Trivia Contest!
 
Do you think you know everything there is to know about Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Series?  Come prove it at the MJHS Twilight Trivia Contest!  Participation will be limited to 50 students, so stop in the LRC ASAP to sign up.  The contest will take place during study hall on Friday 1/9/09...that is the first Friday back from break.  We will be giving away at least $50 in prizes.  See you there!

‘Tales to Tackle’ Reading Program
 
The students at Minooka Junior High now have another reading incentive program to participate in.  The central aspect of the Chicago Bears ‘Tales to Tackle’ reading program is a reading notebooks that includes photos of several Bears players.  In order to successfully complete the program, students must read nine books over the course of three months.

The Collaboratory’s Scariest Stories Project
 
 
Students in Mrs. Walsh’s 8th grade classes participated in an online collaboration project with Northwestern University, in partnership with the Illinois State Board of Education, called “The Collaboratory’s Scariest Stories.”

Cameron Tuttle is Visiting MJHS!
 
I am thrilled to announce that best-selling author Cameron Tuttle will be visiting MJHS on 9/26 to talk about her first YA book, Paisley Hanover Acts Out.  I read the whole book last night and LOVED IT!  It is super cute, funny, and snarky...all at once.  Paisley Hanover ROCKS!  If interested, you may pre-purchase a copy of the book to be autographed.  The cost is $12.00 (cash or check).
