Board Member Bios

Emily Conquest


Emily has served on the Board of Education since 2019, and has served as Board President since 2021. She has been an active member of the Minooka 201 community since her oldest started kindergarten in 2013. She quickly became a volunteer in the PTO, and was the chairperson for many committees and events over the years. In addition to being a volunteer in our schools, she has volunteered her time in various community organizations including a local food pantry, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, the Will County Medical Reserve Corp, and in her church community.

Professionally, Mrs. Conquest is a Registered Nurse with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Michigan State University. Her experience includes working in pediatrics, school nursing, women’s health, and community education.

Emily resides in Shorewood with her husband, her three children, and her dog. Her current term will expire in 2023.

James (Jim) Satorius

Vice President

Jim Satorius has lived in Minooka for over 50 years and has served on the Minooka 201 Board of Education since 1993, with many of those years as Board President. He is committed to maintaining District 201’s excellent standards for education while also remaining one of the lower cost per student districts in the state of Illinois.

After serving in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam, Jim went into the field of education.  He retired from teaching after 27 years, during which he taught industrial arts and was the Computer Director. He and his wife raised all four of their children in Minooka, and they  as well as three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews have attended Minooka 201 from Kindergarten through 8th grade.

In 1976 Jim served on a committee to form the Three Rivers Public Library District and served as President of the Library Board for many years.  In 1996 his family opened a sandwich shop business in Minooka that they ran until 2009. In addition to his school board duties he is an active member of his church, the Minooka Lions Club and the American Legion, Post 1188.

Jim was reelected to his current term in 2021. His term expires in 2025.

Alan Skwarczynski


Alan (Al) Skwarczynski has been a Minooka resident since 1989. He has been married to his wife Nancy for 49 years and they have two grown sons and five grandchildren. Al is a veteran of the Armed Forces and is a Life Member of both the Minooka American Legion Post 1188 and the Morris VFW. He had a long career in education having spent years as a mathematics teacher and then a school principal before his retirement.

Al has always been active in his community and currently serves as a Commissioner for the Minooka Fire Protection District and as Vice Chairman of the Grundy County Zoning Board of Appeals in addition to his service on the Minooka CCSD 201 Board of Education. He is a longtime member and Past President of the Minooka Lions Club and has volunteered his time as scout leader and youth sports coach. 

Al has been a member of the Minooka 201 Board of Education since 2011. His current term expires in 2023.

Stephen Blount

Stephen is a God fearing man that is blessed with a spectacular wife Leslie; 4 remarkable kids that are between the ages of 11-18 years of age (3 Girls and a Boy). He is a real estate agent and businessman that has been very active in his church community and youth sports in our region.

Stephen is an ambitious, charismatic, servant leader that loves all people. He is always striving to be the best version of himself that he can be for his family, friends, clients and community. He is a graduate of Western Illinois University and resides in Joliet with his family.

Stephen was elected to the Minooka 201 Board of Education in 2021. His current term expires in 2025.

Ed Cronin

Edward Cronin

Edward (Ed) Cronin has been a Shorewood resident for 29 years. He and his wife of 33 years have one grandchild and three adult children, all of which went through the Minooka 201 school system. 

A sales executive for FTD, Ed always wants to make sure our district continues to offer the best education we can. He previously served on the Minooka 201 Board of Education from 2015-2019 before being reelected to the post in 2021. His current term runs through 2025.



Adam Shainberg

Adam has served on the Board of Education since 2021.  He is dedicated to supporting Minooka 201 at every opportunity. This spirit to volunteer has been a guiding force as he participates in district fundraisers, church events, and coaching soccer teams.

Mr. Shainberg has spent almost two decades in the fields of mental health and special education.  Adam takes pride in the valuable experiences gained working in public school and behavioral academic settings.  Through these partnerships Adam has made lasting contributions to the successful implementation of special education and autism intervention programs. Currently, Adam manages patient advocacy at Ascension Illinois Behavioral Health Services. 

As a graduate of The University of Kansas, Adam is passionate about education, community, and of course basketball.  Adam lives in Minooka with his wife, three children, two cats, and a dog (pending).  His current term will expire in 2025.

Vinita Voss

Vinita has lived in Shorewood for 12 years. She has two daughters in the Minooka CCSD 201 District. Vinita currently works in public health as an Equity Manager. She is experienced in advocacy; data collection and analysis; diversity, equity and inclusion; conflict resolution; contract negotiations; legislative bill drafting; community and government relations; public affairs; business development; ethics; and compliance. She has worked for all levels of government including Will County, The Illinois General Assembly, and the US Department of Commerce. Voss has also functioned as primary lobbyist for area non-profits and had the privilege of working in industries including healthcare, education, social justice, and transportation. Vinita earned a Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) in Political Science with a minor in International Studies from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia and a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from Vanderbilt University Law School in Nashville, Tennessee. 

Vinita has volunteered within District 201 schools and has also volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children within Will County, worked with victims of domestic violence, studied disproportionate minority confinement in the juvenile justice system and was previously a field services volunteer for Will County Emergency Management (WCEMA). She is currently a Girl Scout’s Assistant troop leader and dance mom. Vinita is extremely vested and passionate about education and the well-being of all children in our District 201 communities.

Vinita was appointed to the Board in 2021 to fill a vacancy. Her term expires in 2023.
