The program will offer fun, enrichment learning opportunities for students who wish to learn more about specific topics or activities. Minooka Summer Enrichment Camp will provide the following enrichment:
Enrichment Class Options:
Banner Painting
Join us for a fun banner painting class! We will practice our painting techniques before we make our final banner. Design your own or choose a pre-designed banner to paint. No experience needed!
Basketball
Students will learn and practice fundamental skills and increase their understanding of the game through drills and gameplay.
Crochet
Students can expect to learn the basics of crochet like chain stitch, slip stitch, and single crochet.
Escape Room
Challenge your mind and teamwork skills in exciting Escape Room adventures! Work together to solve puzzles, crack codes, and beat the clock in this fast-paced experience.
Gardening
Gardening camp will engage students with nature, while focusing on sustainability and encouraging a love for gardening. Participants will learn about the planting process, including propagation methods, soil preparation, watering, and caring for plants.
Omnikin Games
Join us for a dynamic Omnikin Ball, where participants will enhance teamwork, coordination, and sportsmanship through exciting, high-energy activities like Omnikin soccer, Omnikin kickball, and more!
Painting
Explore a colorful week with painting! Students will learn watercolor, acrylic, and mixed media techniques with a new theme each day to inspire imagination and build confidence. Ideal for all skill levels, this fun class encourages experimentation, creative risk-taking, and celebrating art.
Sculpture
Students will design a human figure that shows movement and energy. They will begin by building a wire “skeleton,” then add plaster to form the body. Once dry, students will paint their sculptures with acrylics and finish by adding creative accessories.
Speech
Students will come together to learn the ins and outs of improv and impromptu acting while rehearsing a script to perform on the final day of camp. This course is great for those interested in joining speech club, drama club, or just enjoy theater in general.
STEAM
The STEAM Enrichment Class is a hands-on, project-based program where students explore science, technology, engineering, art, and math through creative challenges, experiments, and collaborative problem-solving.
Volleyball
Students will learn and practice fundamental skills like passing, setting, and serving. Students will increase their understanding of the game through drills and games.
