Staff Development Tracks – Instructional Technology

  • Topic 1: Overview or Introduction to What’s Available
    • Description: Session(s) will address new technologies or tools that many teachers aren’t aware exist or are available.
    • Objective(s): Participants will gain a foundation level understanding in multiple tools or resources that can lead them down a path of more technology integration.
  • Topic 2: Google Applications
    • Description: Session(s) will address a deeper understanding of Google Apps tools that we already have.
    • Objective(s): Participants will exit the session ready to confidently use the tools in the classroom the next day. Sessions likely to include:
      • Google Classroom
      • Google Shared Calendars
      • Google Docs/Google Sheets
      • Google Forms
  • Topic 3: Technology Integration and Management
    • Description: Session(s) will cover the usage of specific classroom technology equipment.
    • Objective(s): Participants will exit the session better prepared to manage classroom technology and offer ideas on instruction incorporation. Sessions might include:
      • Mimio Software and how it relates to student engagement.
      • iPAD  (Apps, and iPad or class management)
      • Chromebook (Websites and classroom management)
  • Topic 4: Technology Success Stories: 21st Century Lesson Plan
    • Description: Session(s) will recap successful digital lesson plans, explaining the challenges and rewards for pushing the technology envelop.
    • Objective(s): Participants will leave feeling inspired to change their normal lesson plan to a more technology infused one.
