Topic 3: Depth of Knowledge in Questioning
Description: Session(s) will explore the different levels of questioning and address how to bring higher-order thinking into classrooms.
Objective(s): Participants will be able to design questioning in their lessons, create student-led discussion opportunities, and design activities to ensure they will have intellectually engaged students.
Topic 4: Engaging the Reluctant Learner
Description: Session(s) will address how to identify reluctant learners and understand some of the causes behind a reluctant learner.
Objective(s): Participants will be given some strategies for motivating and engaging the reluctant learners in their classrooms.
Topic 5: Sharing Practices and Reflections
Description: Session(s) will reflect on current practices and discuss how to implement engagement strategies. What is working? What can be improved?
Objective(s): Participants will be able to design lessons that maximize student participation and create more student-led learning activities and therefore increase student engagement.
