Minooka CCSD 201 Community,

We look forward to the start of the 2021/2022 school year and working with our staff and students in person.  Our first day of school is scheduled for August 18th.

With the recent announcement of a universal mask mandate regardless of vaccination status for all staff and students in public schools from the Governor's Office, careful review of the revised guidance of CDC, IDPH, and ISBE, as well as working with local health departments, Minooka CCSD 201 will be implementing the following procedures to ensure the safety of our students and staff which are effective immediately.  While we understand and respect that community members have differing views on universal masking, please know that we are implementing mitigation factors to ensure a safe, successful school year for all students.

All students, staff, and visitors must:

  • Wear masks in all schools and while on district transportation, unless students have a documented medical mask exemption on file with the District.

  • Monitor for symptoms daily and remain at home if any symptoms are present.

  • Report any possible or confirmed COVID-19 cases or close contacts.  The District is required to report these cases to the local health department.

  • When and where possible, utilize three (3) feet of physical distance between individuals.

  • Respect one another and refrain from bullying individuals based on their vaccination status.

We strongly encourage all students and staff:

  • Receive the COVID-19 vaccine when eligible.

  • Utilize proper hand washing

All students and staff may:

  • Remove masks when outdoors.

  • Remove masks when eating.

  • Voluntarily share vaccination status to properly determine quarantine protocols when needed.

The District will:

  • Clean and disinfect schools and classrooms daily.

  • Maintain proper ventilation in all buildings and classrooms.

  • Conduct contact tracing within our facilities and notify any close contacts of possible exposure.

  • Provide students with a free lunch option.  Additional information to be shared with families.

  • Continue to monitor local COVID-19 data to ensure we are utilizing appropriate mitigation factors.

It is important to know that the District’s implementation of mitigation factors outlined within the safety plan may change as local data and additional guidance is received.  We will continue to communicate any changes as plans are adjusted.

Thank you for your continued patience and support and we plan to reopen our schools for the new school year with the safety of our students in mind.  Please look for additional communication from your child’s school on start of the year events and planning.
