2021 - 2022 Mitigation Plan
Click here for the full detailed plan. Highlights of the plan can be found below.
All students, staff and visitors, regardless of vaccination status, must wear a mask while inside Minooka 201 schools and transportation per the State of Illinois’ Executive Order 2021-18. If a student arrives at the bus or school without a mask, a mask will be provided to the student.
Also, if a student were to have a mask failure during the course of the school day (i.e. the mask breaks or becomes unusable for any reason), a new mask will be given to the student as soon as the issue arises.
Contact Tracing & Quarantine:
Contract tracing will be utilized within the schools as required per CDC and IDPH guidelines. Minooka CCSD 201 health and administrative staff will work with local health departments to follow quarantine and isolation guidelines.
- Close contacts are considered someone within 3 feet (masked) or 6 feet (unmasked) of a positive case.
- Vaccinated individuals and those with documented COVID-19 infection within the past 90 days with no symptoms will not be required to quarantine when considered a close contact.
Test to Stay:
If your child who is deemed a close contact participates in the Test to Stay program and continues to test negative on days 1, 3, 5 and 7, then your child will be able to remain in school. Click here for details.
All enrolled students may receive a free lunch. In an effort to adhere to recommended mitigation strategies, lunches will be served in bags/take out containers at the start of the 2021-2022 school year. If a student would like MILK ONLY, a milk may be purchased for $.30. Funds can be added to your child's lunch balance through PowerSchool.
Masks are required while on the bus. If a student arrives at the bus without a mask, a mask will be provided to the student. For bus time and number information, log into PowerSchool for details. Instructions here
Schedules will be released August 12th for K-8. Any specific questions regarding schedules should be directed to your child’s school.
Families will be required to sign a one time waiver agreeing to not send their child to school while sick. There will not be a daily self-certification this school year. Instructions for completing the one time waiver are here.
Lockers & Backpacks:
During the 2021-2022 school year, lockers will not be used at grades 5-8. If students wish to carry a backpack during the day at the Junior High, the bag must be clear or mesh. Any specific questions regarding lockers and backpacks should be directed to your child’s school.
P.E. and Athletics:
During the 2021-2022 school year, PE classes will not be changing. Masks must be worn at all times during P.E. and athletic events unless students are outdoors maintaining proper social distancing guidelines.
